Now Accepting Logo Designs for the
HOUSTON INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Attention NHGCC Members:

Houston, Texas – January 12, 2010 – The North Houston-Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce announces name change to Houston Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce.

The new name will better represent our area in a city that is a leader in our global economy and a membership which requires an elevated level of service.

The North Houston-Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce was originally established in 1986 and has continuously evolved over time to meet the needs of the community and its membership. Due to our close proximity to Bush Intercontinental Airport and our growing membership of both national and international companies, the Board of Directors voted to change the name of the Chamber from North Houston-Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce to Houston Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber entered into a partnership with Lone Star College System – North Harris in May 2008, and moved offices to the LSCS – Greenspoint Center, located at 250 N. Sam Houston Pkwy East, Suite 200, Houston, Texas 77060. The new facilities have enabled the Chamber to provide services unlike any Chamber in the Houston area. The Chamber has on-site training and meeting facilities, conference rooms, a business incubator, a SBDC/SBA office, and a newly formed economic development council -- all located within the Chamber suite.

We have established relationships with federal agencies, local and federal legislators, and multi-national representatives and feel this name change will represent and carry us into the future of the organization. The facilities, services and events we now offer allow us to better assist our members with the challenge they face in today’s competitive global markets.

A new logo will be unveiled at a press conference to be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, 11:30am, at the Hilton Hotel North, located at 12400 Greenspoint Drive, Houston, Texas 77060, during the Chamber’s 4th Annual International Business Economic Forum. All members who would like to design and submit a logo to represent the new name may do so by email to rgray@nhgcc.org, by noon on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The logos submitted will be voted upon by the Board and a new logo will be selected from the community.

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to an exciting year ahead as this Chamber continues to grow.

Regards, Reggie Gray, President

A message from 2010 Chairman,
Bill Townsend:

I think Sidney Evans (Chair 2009) and Reggie Gray (President) did a great job of leading our Chamber through a rough 2009 by establishing positive momentum for the future. I think my challenge as Chairman in 2010 is to ensure that we continue to move forward in the same positive fashion.

As business people, we would all love to be experiencing a more positive economic climate, but I think your Chamber membership can be even more important in these times. As we struggle through tough times,we can lay a foundation and position our businesses to take advantage of the economic recovery. Business cycles have always existed, and as good times do not last forever, it’s reassuring to know that neither do tough times.

As a Chamber we can all work together to make the best of whatever economic environment we experience. I am proud to be part of this Chamber and this community, and I look forward to working with each of you in the coming year.

The North Houston-Greenspoint area is a dynamic place to do business and our chamber is at the center of it all. An investment in the chamber creates a rippled effect that not only benefits your business through networking, training and community involvement, but also improves our local economy by allowing the chamber to add services and create more opportunities for businesses to thrive.

Contact the chamber office today about making this important investment in the success of your business.

William Townsend
